These ships are a part of the
Ship Battle Forces.
These assets are categorized as Naval Reserve Force Active (NRFA) ships. NRFA ships have a
reduced or skeletonized crew of active duty personnel assigned to provide training of
assigned reservists for limited operations and maintenance. Under mobilization, reservists,
assigned to a particular ship, will be activated complementing the active duty personnel. Ships
which fall under this category are surface combatants, amphibious warfare ships
and selected mine warfare ships.
