Comments: Ex-Tortuga LSD-26 in late 1987 was to be disposed by weapons testing, broke tow during storm and grounded on the south side of San Miguel Island CA. After several months was re-floated by salvage company and sunk south of the Island in 6000 ft. of water on 21 AUG 88.
